Software
Development -
This
century has seen a variety of new application development
projects, most of them built on Web-based technologies
with a strong orientation towards standards-driven (EJB,
COM/DCOM) architecture. The experiences of the last
century have forced users to adopt scalable and extensible
architectures that can support 24/7 business availability
to accommodate global customers and reduce development
cycles to a minimum.
Process
Methodology
Vishwamitra
has created an internal process framework based on some
of the best practices followed in the industry worldwide.
Generally any software development project is divided
in four phases of project / product life cycle.
Concept
Phase: The first
phase of the project / product life cycle is the concept
phase wherein the project scope is identified.
Requirements Phase:
The second phase is the elaboration phase wherein the
scope and method of implementing the life cycle, including
alternatives to be attempted are clearly detailed.
Construction Phase:
The third phase is the construction phase wherein the
technical part, which covers coding and other technical
developments, is carried out to implement the decided
design.
Transition Phase:
The last phase is the transition phase wherein the software
is delivered to the testing team and then on to the
client. Support is provided until acceptance testing
is over. Usually the software is classified as a separate
project for maintenance, once it is accepted and is
in production.
Throughout
the software development process, Vishwamitra creates
an set of sharable set of parameters for review. It
engages in the following six best practices methodology.

It helps companies to enhance their operational efficiency,
customer satisfaction, and competitive position.
Businesses all over the world are rapidly embracing
this technology. International Data Corporation reported
that a study group of 65 companies realized a mean return
on business intelligence investment of 400% in 2.3 years.
Definition
of data warehousing (According to W.H.Inmon)
A data warehouse is a subject-oriented, integrated,
time-variant and non-volatile collection of data in
support of management's decision-making process.
First
comes the data collection, once the data has been properly
collected and optimized in the data warehouse, the user
can access it using
reporting and analysis tools. Multi-dimensional tools
provide data analysis by sales, product, region, period,
and other angles. Reports that took days to develop
now may take hours or minutes.

OLAP

Models -
At
Vishwamitra we give flexible options to the client for
choosing the best option to suit his requirements. One
can opt for any one or combination of below mentioned
models.
Fixed price model
This option has the least risk for a customer. However,
such a model is possible only when the requirements
are stable and can be defined to sufficient detail.
Often customers combine, fixed price model with time
and material mode (below) for various phases of the
project.
Time and Material (T&M)
model
Vishwamitra has been working with many of its clients
with time and material (T&M) basis for its engagements.
Vishwamitra provides on-site service on T&M basis
too.
Offshore Development Center
(ODC) model
Vishwamitra can set up offshore development teams for
clients. Apart from software development and delivery,
Vishwamitra can also manage all aspects of ODC such
as plans for ramp-up, recruitment, training, and retention
of personnel working on multiple projects.
